Expulsion Policy

initially adopted by Members assembled in General Meeting on 30 June 2013, subsequently amended by Members assembled in General Meeting on 27 June 2017

In a nutshell:

2 years worth of unpaid dues additional 360 days additional 90 days expulsion at General Meeting

Complete policy:

In reference to Article 2, Section 5, of the Articles of Association, a Member is deemed to have refused to pay debts owed to the Association if the balance of money owed as recorded in her/his Membership Dues Account is above CHF 80 for more than 360 days as first counted from 1 January 2017 and as thereafter counted from each 1 January. In such situations, the Member is to be reminded twice in writing to pay her/his debts within a span of 90 days under the threat of expulsion from the Association. The member is deemed to have been so informed by correspondence dispatched to the postal and e-mail addresses last submitted by the member to the Association, whether this correspondence is actually received and seen or not. If debts remain unpaid after the aforementioned 90 days, the Member will be presented to the General Meeting for expulsion from the Association, with the date of that General Meeting being the effective date of the expulsion from and the end of membership in the Association. For the purpose of transparency and accountability, the names of to-be-expelled and expelled members are available upon request. For the assurance of fairness and equality, the Officers are instructed to make reasonable efforts to recover the money owed from all expelled Members. This Expulsion Policy replaces all previous rules and regulations on expulsions and on debt management and collection.
